Exam information
Parkhall Integrated College aims to enable each student to achieve his/her academic potential. Assessment is a process that provides information about an individual student’s experiences and achievements. It identifies what student know, understand and what they can do. Results of assessment are recorded to monitor and track student progress. The college considers its relationship with parents/guardians an important one if students are to reach their potential, therefore reports to parents/guardians contain relevant information on progress to date.
At key stage 3 (years 8-10), we have introduced a range of assessments for all students so that we can monitor their progress throughout the year. Parents/Guardians will receive progress reports, and from these results students will have opportunities to set targets for themselves in order to improve upon their results.
At key stages 4 and 5 (years 11-14), students complete a range of assessments subject to the requirements of the individual subjects as well as internal/external examinations in January and May/June. Parents/Guardians will receive progress reports, and from these results pupils will have opportunities to set targets for themselves in order to improve upon their results. Results for external examinations are forwarded to students as soon as the school is notified by the relevant examination boards (CCEA, AQA, PEARSON and OCR).
